Exchange Online helps protect your information with advanced capabilities. Anti-malware and anti-spam filtering protects mailboxes.Our mail supports STARTTLS on outgoing e-mail and STARTTLS and SSL-on-connect on POP3 and IMAP. Our MXs support so-called opportunistic encryption (Follow Wiki link for further explanation) for both incoming and outgoing connections.
When you use POP3, your messages are stored on our server as they come in and are downloaded to your machine and deleted from our server when you check mail.
IMAP, or Internet Message Access Protocol, is a newer option for reading e-mail. When you use IMAP, your messages are stored on our server as they arrive, but your e-mail program, e.g. Outlook, downloads a copy of your messages and they are not deleted from our server until they are deleted in your email program.
We strongly recommend IMAP. When using IMAP, your e-mail will be available in Web mail at all times. IMAP is also required if you want to use your mobile phone to read e-mail, or set up the account on several computers.
All of our Hosted Exchange Emails begins at 5GB. Additional storage capacity of up to 50GB can be ordered as an extra service and it’s as easy as a click of a button.
